Design Process
Each project defines what design angle to first take. This is based upon the purpose and use of the structure ‘and’ what the operational requirements may be.
Step 1 – We first need to understand the main aspects of the structures requirements. From this we can then ascertain what design principles to engage and follow.
Step 2 – Utilising the latest CAD engineering and render software, our architects provide initial high end visuals for our clients to understand the buildings representation. This also allows our clients to make visual design changes and tweaks. This is the architecture design phase.
Step 3 – After the client has signed off the initial design concepts, our engineers carry out load state analysis of the planned structure. This ensures that the structure is both safe for its intended use and is compliant to EU regulations. On certain occasions, the construction of test building sections may be required to fully satisfy engineering calculations on tensile stress and tensile strength. Further design changes may also be required at this stage to comply with engineering parameters and stress loads.
Step 4 – Once design concepts and engineering’s have been signed off, the cutting pattern generation (manufacturing know-how) now begins. This follows the same processes and principles of all tensile membrane structures.
Step 5 – Manufacture and supply. Because we are fully aware that designs can sometimes be passed from manufacturer to manufacturer – meaning a once unique structure is copied. We ensure all design and build knowledge is kept within our company. We do not outsource or provide critical documentation to any none approved third parties. This guarantees our clients’ design is protected as best possible.
