New Interior Tensile Membrane Project Coordinator

New Interior Tensile Membrane Project Coordinator

With Shade Sculpture ever more in demand with more and more projects on our doorstep, we are delighted to bring onboard our new Interior Tensile Membrane Project Coordinator, Philly Gaisford, to ensure we continually keep giving fantastic customer service, complimenting the innovative tensile design we are known for.

Interior Design Experience

Philly spent seven years in London, working in the costume department of various West End theatres, before moving onto developing and designing gastropubs, restaurants and bars for a multi award winning pub group.  Whilst she was constantly pushing forward the design ethos of the company, she also worked on numerous freelance projects in up and coming Brixton and fashionable London suburb, Shoreditch.  Philly then left London to spend time discovering different cultures in Asia, exploring and surfing in Indonesia, road tripping in Australia and finally skiing in New Zealand.  Settling in Queenstown – the sports capital of the world – Philly took on the role of project management for a high end bespoke furniture designer.  Philly gained immeasurable customer relations experience whilst working alongside the Creative Director of Linley of London.  Working in such a creative environment with such specialised and artisan workshops solidified Philly’s love of design once and for all.

Interior and Exterior Tensile Architecture

Whilst travelling through Asia, Philly started to notice the form and use of interior and exterior tensile architecture and how it enhanced the functionality and aesthetics of the buildings, beginning with the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, through to discovering its elegance in Singapore and the tensile canopies at Sydney Harbor. After returning to the UK and having seen tensile architecture’s expanding use in British design, Philly actively sought work within the tensile industry.  Philly is very much looking forward to her new role as Tensile Interiors Project Coordinator.  She is excited about winning and overseeing Shade Sculpture’s UK interior based projects.

Tensile Membrane Ambitions

Philly joined Shade Sculpture as Tensile Interiors Project Coordinator on the 16th November and has big ambitions for her work with Shade Sculpture.  Going through intensive training with the management, and flying to Germany to meet our Ceno-Tech partners, we are excited to officially launch Philly into the world of Tensile Architecture.
